My name is Amanda - and I love makeup! As a child I enjoyed watching my mother "put on her lips" and getting into her makeup bag when she wasn't looking! I loved the many requests from my girlfriends for prom and homecoming makeup - and eventually their weddings and other special occasions!
After graduating from UW in Communications and having worked at REI for 9 great years, Human Resources being my last position; I decided to stay home with my son.
The last few years I have been blessed with the time and resources to turn a passion into a career - makeup! Makeup can mean different things to different people. It can be fun and colorful, subtle and meaningful; it's an option to help raise self-esteem and confidence when you aren't feeling your best - or when a scar or injury has left you needing a little extra help.
I've had the pleasure of training through the fabulous Schweitzer Studio's Makeup Academy in Washington and Belle of the Ball out of California. This training paired with plenty of hands on experience inspired me to start my own mobile makeup service Strikingly You!
